Jake is a kid after my own heart if it can be dinosaur-themed, he wants it. Dino games, dino cake, dino balloons, probably dino-shaped napkins. He’s READY. But when all his friends come down with the flu? Instant heartbreak. I felt that in my soul.
But then…THUMP. SCRAPE. MUNCH???
Jake sneaks into the living room expecting disappointment, and instead finds a herd of dinosaurs casually helping themselves to his birthday celebration like they RSVP’d “yes” weeks ago. I’m talking full-on prehistoric party crashers who show up ready to make this kid’s night unforgettable.
What follows is a chaotic, hilarious, and absolutely adorable dino sleepover think giant footprints on the carpet, dino dance parties, and everyone trying really hard not to wake the T. rex because, well you know.
This book is pure joy from start to finish. It takes a sad, lonely birthday and flips it into the best night ever with warmth, humor, and that Linda Bailey charm that always mixes heart with wild imagination. The illustrations pack in so many funny little moments I found myself lingering on every page.
