This was my first Nicholas Sparks book and I honestly wasn't expecting much. Well, wow. This book was sure powerful and when I saw the movie afterwards I cried. This book relates father and daughter and brother as a family. Even the mother is discussed quite a bit. This is a soul-opening book that would be a good read for anyone who wants a good tear-jerker.
