Lord of the rings is a master piece of a novel. The first book really kicks of fantasy novels, it has a special quality that transports to faraway places and makes it feel like youre in the book instead of your room. The fellowship of the ring nicely starts of the trilogy and ends with a cliff hanger.
Saron a spirit, turns evil and tricks the elves to make a number of magic rings. After a great war Saron is defeated but his spirit lives on in the most powerful ring. 3000 years later the ring falls into the hands of a Frodo the hobbit. Frodo and his friends join a fellowship seeking Sarons demise. After travelling under mountains and through forests the fellow ship breaks and all hope is lost.
The fellow ship is one of the greatest books of the 20th century and perhaps the 21th.
