Merlin is contacted by Urnalda, enchantress of the dwarves, by means of a magical harp. She tells him that the dragon Valderag has awakened from his slumber and is terrorizing her land, and that only Merlin can stop him.

I began the Lost Years of Merlin saga at the recommendation of a friend, and by the time I got this far I was reading ppainfully slowly in the hope that the book would never end. This may not be the sort of book you would want to reread time and time again, but anything Barron writes is amazing.

I recommend this book to anyone with a love of fantasy and folklore, or either of the two.
