Howard Hopkins does it again with another clever tale! This time with a tamed down view of horror. October Williams moves from Philadelphia to New Salem, Maine. Mom has gotten a divorce and needs the space. Thus October is the new kid stuck in a new school. Of course he gets the school bully mad at him that first day. How could he not? Even worse, he comes up against a town legend in the living, uh - dying, flesh. After all, every new kid should be chased by a Headless Paperboy to get his year started off right. October gets befriended by the school oddballs, the Nightmare Club. Meanwhile he has to keep running bottom over end from bully, Fonzie wannabee, Jimmy Gibbens. Poor October Williams, he finds himself in the middle of the supernatural and a bit of discrimination.
