R. L. Stine is a master of terror, especially for the younger kids and teens. His books have just the right mix of fright and humor to entertain anyone from the age of 8 and on up.

The Nightmare Room series is a great one and the first book, Don't Forget Me, starts off with a bang. Or maybe I should say whimper...

Danielle is fifteen and her younger brother drives her nuts. She's always saying how she'd like him to just go away, but she doesn't really mean it.

When they move into a new house, she has no idea that her brother and her own life are in danger.

It starts out innocently enough. She and a friend from school pretend to hypnotize Peter. Suprisingly, it seems to work a little too well. Peter starts acting differently. He doesn't seem at all like the brother she knows and loves.

Danielle does some digging around and discovers that it wasn't the hypnotizing that is the cause of the problem. It's the house. Soon, it isn't just Peter that is in danger.

And just when you think they've solved their problems and everything is going to be fine again...think again. When you're in the Nightmare Room, you are never safe.
