Ghostie is excited to go to camp with his friend Tate, but when he gets there he's nervous all over again to be the only ghost in the group of kids. His worst fears come true after the camp counselor tells the kids scary ghost stories and they can't help but think Ghostie is scary too. Just in time, Ghostie's parents come to save the day, and Ghostie and his camp mates learn to see each other for who they really are and enjoy camp as friends.

Ghostie continues to be a super earnest and relatable character. His interactions with the other kids display both a joy and nervousness that everyone feels at some time, and the story clearly portrays how careless words can be hurtful and relationships are built through intentional kindness. It's also a powerful illustration of how friendships can have rough spots, but when the friends work things out, they will be even closer.

If you're looking for an illustrated chapter book with heart and fun, pick this up as a sequel or a standalone.
