Princess in Pink starts out with Mia obsessing about the senior prom, which she is still waiting for Michael to ask her to go to. Soon, its Mias 15th birthday party, and her family goes out to a restaurant to celebrate. This turns into a disaster. Grandmere brings Rommel, her dog, to the dinner. He escapes from her purse and runs right into the busboy, Jangbu. Jangbu spilled the soup all over Grandmere, who complained, and Jangbu was immediately fired. Lily becomes really upset about the turn of events and begins to organize protests. This starts to slowly ruin Lily and Mias friendship. What makes it worse is that Grandmere doesnt think that anything is her fault.
During all this, Mias mother is still pregnant, which is affecting her sanity. But she and Mr. G allow Mia to have a party, and she invites all of her friends. Lily unexpectedly brings Jangbu along. Mias party turns into a disaster when Jangbu and Lily are caught in the closet while playing 7 minutes in heaven. Lily ignoring Boris also makes Mia mad and they stop talking. Then, one day in G&T, Boris does something drastic, which turned out to be a bad idea. And then the prom is cancelled since all businesses are closing because of the protests. Its up to Mia to save the prom, and her only chance to go with Michael.

I thought that this book was really good. It was so much better than Princess in Waiting. So many serious things happened in the book, but Meg Cabot still made it as humorous as possible. Every PD fan has to read this. I cant wait until the next PD book!
