I love a good fae story where they’re tricky and mischievous in the true nature of fairies. Throw in a marriage competition with Bridgerton vibes, and you have the ticket to an outstanding story. Ivy competes with our ladies who are debuting this year, and much like Bridgeton, each lady makes deals to make herself stand out among all those vying for the most desired man, in this case, the prince. In this reimagined 1800s, instead of Queen Victoria picking her rose as her favorite, we have a Fae Queen who makes dangerous bargains with mortals, and we have Ivy who is desperate to gain her sister back and even goes so far as to use her bargain to undue her sisters which backfires as you can well imagine. Why would a Fae Queen give up any power she probably gained? Suppose you enjoyed The Selection series with all its interesting competition to be the final one to take the prince's hand and enjoy a bit of a rebellion brewing in the wings. In that case, The Rose Bargain will check all those boxes and the swoony romance with an exciting cliffhanger.
