All too often in YA books there is someone who dies. This book is no exception, but before it, I had never read anything about someones "lover" dying. Colt makes me cry, he really does. He misses Julia so much, but he is not exactly sure what their relationship was. "The Secret Year" is about moving on from the past and looking forward to the future.
