The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants by Ann Brashares is a book, much like the pants the story itself revolves around, can be shared with all your friends and flatter you in some way.
Everyone can identify with one of the four Sisters of the Sisterhood: Carmen, the saucy, hot-tempered latina girl; Lena, the shy, beautiful greek; Tibby, the rebellious, yet caring girl; and Bridget, the athletic girl who will never stop to get what she wants.
The pants follow each girl around twice on their summer vacation, bringing each of them a good memory when they wore them.
This is a really good read for the summer, and is pretty relaxing (and sometimes funny) story to sink into. I loved it!

I'd have to admit that this book was quite boring at first. I actually stopped reading it for a month then picked up on it again later. The first few chapters are a snooze but believe me it gets better. It's just a tale of friends growing up and trying not to grow apart. I love the quotes found in the book they really are insperationl, true, and funny. This book has a sequal The Second Summer of the Sisterhood that you should deffinatly read if you enjoy The First Summer. Really this book is all just to real. It isn't about girls that live an rich or famous life like Gossip Girl. It's just a tale of friends, maybe like your own. Over all it was good.

This is such a great book. When I first began to read, I was confused, but as I went on, It was like I was inside the story. The way Ann Brashares wrote this novel was amazing and so realistic. This book is definitely a five!

Ann Brashares’s first piece of literary work is a fantasy fiction. I rate Sisterhood: 4, funny, array of genres, excellent! Ann Brashares knows how to reach young girls. She understands them well.

The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants is the story of four young women separated for one summer. They have found a pair of blue jeans that fit all. All of the different styles, all of the different sizes, all of the personalities, and all of the girls.

Lena is a Greek girl traveling to live with her relatives in Greece. She must put up with Costos, the boy who likes her, and the boy who her relatives want her to marry. She also must communicate with those who don’t speak English.

Bridget is an athlete at soccer camp in Baja California. She meets lots of girls, Ollie, Diana, and others who become her friends. She also finds a coach she likes a LOT!

Tibby stays home to work at Wallman’s for money to buy a car. She decides to make a documentary on crazy people and hates her boss, Duncan. Tibby becomes the friend of Bailey, a leukemic girl.

Carmen, the founder of the pants, travels to the South Carolina home of her no longer single father. He surprises Carmen with a fiance and two “step-children.” She must deal with anger and jealousy.

The girls send the pants back and forth in the mail for courage, love, and good sense. Lena, Bridget, Carmen, and Tibby will learn many lessons in The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants.

This novel is a good choice for teen girls. I enjoyed Tibby’s adventures with Bailey. I thought Bridget’s infatuation with Eric was funny. Carmen’s anger at her father was odd. Lena’s awkward relationship with Costos was interesting. I recommend it for 13 and up readers.

Wow, Wow, Wow, thats all I can say about this book. Its a story about four best friends; Tibby, Bridget, Carmen and Lena. THey spend every summer together, every summer until now that is. They are all about to leave on thier vacations, when they discover these 'magic' pants. They are magical becuase they fit every single girl (who are all different sizes) perfectly. Lena decided to take the pants to Greece with her, and she will send them to Carmsn, then Tibby, then Bridget. The pants are what bonded the girls all summer. In good times and in bad. The characters are realistic, and easy to rellate to. its a MUST READ
