Twelve years old and already guarding a secret that could jeopardize his young life, Maimun is marked for death. The book starts when Maimun is captured by pirates and to save his life, starts telling the Captain his story. The story of how he has been on the run his entire life protecting a stone that he knows nothing about! To make matters worse, a demon is after the boy and the stone.

I picked up this book and simply couldn't put it down. I finished it in 1 day! I loved the action, the magic and the characters in this book.
I cannot wait to read the second book of the trilogy soon!
