Colleen Nelson knows kids, which shows in this sweet and engaging story about a video game-addicted underachiever who reinvents himself as a nerd with the unintended help of a classmate whose best friend has just moved away. The chapters are short and sweet, which helps if you have a reader who is reluctant to pick up books that are longer. The situations are relevant for children of all ages, parents away due to work obligations, ailing grandparents, ever-evolving friendships, and deciding to be who you are and not being ashamed of things you enjoy.
Final Verdict:
I gave this book five stars as I loved the addition of it revolving around book recommendations and a real competition in which children can become involved.
