Hi really liked this series of books, the characters are well developed and interesting. The story line is very creative. The reader can tell that the author put a lot of time and effort into writing these books. Now, the tv series on the CW is similar to the books but many things are different. The characters are developed diferently, some even look completely different than in the book, which was a disappointment to the nbook fans I'm sure! I highly recommend the books to everyone 6th grade and up. My parents who are 60+ years old liked them. They are a bit scary in parts because there is a lot of killing. They are vampires after all!!! I enjoyed the love story and the stuggle that the main character Elena goes through trying to deal with the fact that the boy(s) she likes are vampires.
