Arden is seventeen-years-old, and was orpaned when she was a young child. Her much older brother Scott has always been there to take care of her, even sacrificing some of his own dreams so she could have a guardian. But now Scott has died in a snowmobile accident, and Arden is all alone...or is she? After discovering that Scott's girlfriend, Claire, is pregnant, and that she told him this shortly before his death, Arden is convinced her brother staged his own death to get out of being in another situation where he would have to raise a child. Although everyone thinks she's crazy, Arden begins searching for Scott. As time goes by, however, she realizes she's searching for much more-- namely, a sense of heritage.
This is an awesome, awesome story about a typical teenage girl in a strange situation. The suspense makes it hard to keep from flipping to the end to see what happens, but the conclusion is worth the wait. A real page turner!
