A couple is driving through the desert, far from any civilization, when they find an old man, half dead, wandering about and muttering about quantum foam. They bring him to a hospital where he is checked for identification, but the only things found on him are a ceramic tile and a map of a monastry labeled mon.ste.mere, for the old Monastery of Saint Mere in France. It is being excavated by a team of graduate students from Yale, the Professor, and his assistant Andre Marek.

This book was recommended to me by my father. I can generally trust my father's opinion and, though I was a little leery about reading something he had read for an assignment in high school, I nevertheless got it out of the library. I then took it on a car trip, read two hundred pages at once, and still felt bad when I had to put it down because it was such a fascinating, unique book.

I think this is a good book and recommend it to anyone, but particularly those interested in history or science.

At first it is kinda slow but once your a little before halfway through the book it gets really good!!!It's basically about a group of historians who have to go back to the medieval ages to rescue a fellow member. It is a really good book and I recommend it to anyone.
