Many years in the future Home Time has been created. People live in a world that is a mix of all time periods and time travel is controlled by The College. Rico Garron is an operative who takes travelers to different time periods and helps monitor the progression of time. Then some seemingly unconnected events occur; a Commissioner falls to his death, a Correspondent wakes up, and several journeymen are pulled from their jobs on the field.
For the most part I enjoyed this book, but there were some problems. The plot tends to be confusing; the different storylines do not seem connected at all. However, the characters are well written and interesting. Rico, the main character is complex with a backstory that could use another book to explain. The ending was delightful, but getting there was difficult. Readers who can brave the confusion of the beginning will be engrossed in the slow unraveling of the mystery and the fantastic end.
