It was the sight of the cover that first captivated me to read this book. Even though people say not to judge a book buy it's cover, I just can't.

Anyways, here's the basic plot of this book:

A lady named Anna sets on the high seas to find her father's treasure. During her voyage she accidently falls in love with the dangerous and handsome James Sterling, who steals her heart. As she struggles to understand exactly how she feels about him, she learns more about others around her.

This book is absolutely well written. Filled with adventure and romance, who wouldn't love pirates?

From back cover:
"Once caught, it's harder still to let a pirate go...
When Annalisa Townsend's ship is set upon by pirates in seach of her father's treasure, one of the crew, James Sterling, discovers her in the hold. When he moves to take her necklace, she begs him not to, as it is all she has left of her mother. He accepts a kiss in exhange the necklace. "A fair trade, m'lady," he tells her afterward, before disappearing.
A year later, with a forged letter of marque, Annalisa is intent on hunting down the wretched James Sterling and relcaiming her father's treasure from him. But now she's in danger of him stealing something far more valuable this time: her heart."

To Catch a Pirate was a quick read, but I thoroughly enjoyed it! I was in a Pirates of the Caribbean mood when I picked up this book and I wasn't disappointed! The love story between Annalisa and James was good as well... Its definitely a book I've recommended to others... who have loved it as well! 10 out of 10 stars!

Me + Horror = can't sleep for a week without the light on. Just kidding...kind of. No, this book actually was really good. I mean it wasn't some super emotional book that completely moved me, but the plot was thick and there was plenty of suspense.

Now, to someone like my cousin who lives on horror movies and books, this particular novel would probably seem pathetic, but it gave me goosebumps. Luckily, there was a romance in the book that made the story so much better, oh, and Judith's crazy 40-something cousin who had a "thing" for young girls.

I don't know why, but i really liked this book! It was only like $4.30 for me, so I'd buy it. Besides the intriguing ghost story part of it, the book was also a mystery. Don't you love a good mystery?
Well anyways, sorry for the short, non-descriptive review, it was a short novel, and i don't want to give anything away.

Analisa
is on a ship with her Father and the crew when they get attacked by
pirates. Analisa hides but is found by one of the pirates, and in
exchange for her freedom she gives a ring and he takes a stolen kiss.
Now, her Fathers in jail and she wants to get him out. Analisa buys her
own ship and starts the journey to get back the treasure, probably the
only way to prove that he is innocent. They capture James Sterling,
whom is the only one other than Crimson that knows where the treasure
is. Soon though, Analisa finds herself falling in love with James, and
he surprisingly starts falling in love with her. Will they find the
treasure? Will Analisa loose the love of her life?

"To Catch a
Pirate" was such a wonderful story! Analisa is different than a lot of
characters, she is bold, strong, and very courageous. She sets out with
a ship of her own! I really enjoyed this book and suggest reading it!!

Enjoy!

Annalisa Townsend and her father are glad to be departing England for the Caribbean. They need to move on from the recent death of Annalisas mother, and what better place to do it than the little known Caribbean island of Mourning, which King George has assigned governorship of to Annalisas father. But on the voyage over, their ship is set upon be pirates, and Annalisa is discovered in her hiding place in the hold. However, in exchange for letting Annalisa keep her necklace, a reminder of her dead mother, pirate James Sterling steals her ring and a kiss. A year later, Annalisa has a forged letter of marque to help her hunt down James Sterling. She wants to take back her fathers treasure and restore his good name. But Annalisa is not entirely prepared for what James might steal from her this timeher heart.

I found To Catch a Pirate to be an adorable pirate romance story. The plot was a bit reminiscent of Pirates of the Caribbean, but I mean that in the best possible way. The love and danger on stormy seas, hidden treasure, and sword fighting really drew me in. I also liked how these fictional characters had encounters with a real pirate, Black Bart Roberts. The main characters were rather well developed, especially Annalisa. She is a strong minded and somewhat stubborn young woman who knows what she wants and will do almost anything to get it. Sterling battles with his whole good pirate/bad pirate persona, which is interesting; however, sometimes when it seems hes entirely on one side, hell do something completely surprising. Some of the pirate encounters may seem unrealistic, especially because of the lack of loss of life, but it serves its purpose of simulating the dangers and excitement associated with piracy.

If youre looking for a unique romance story, To Catch a Pirate should be high on your life. Besides, who can resist a pirate story?
