"To Kill A Mockingbird" is a book about a town called Maycomb, Alabama in the 1920's. Half of the book goes through a few years of the childhoods of brother and sister Jem and Scout. Their father is a lawyer. The conflict of the assumption that a black man raped a white woman begins at the second half. Jem and Scout's father defends the man. You see how people reacted to them when they found out he took the case and how he deals with it. Also in the book is the common "haunted house" most kids believe. A man named "Boo" Radley lives in the house and never comes out. He is assumed to be crazy and violent.

For the most part, I like this book because it reminds me of the way my grandparents talk about their childhood in Alabama. It also showed how people can be cruel when met with certain circumstances and how they deal.
