Torn (Trylle Trilogy #2)

Torn picks up right where Switched left off: Wendy has just returned to her brother after running from her mother and her title. But she’s not home for long before trouble finds her. Soon enough she’s attacked and wakes up in a Vittra dungeon, but then she has a meeting with the king who has a bit of a surprise for her. From this point on Wendy has a lot of decisions to make regarding her future and the future of her people.

Wendy truly is torn in this book. She’s torn over her sense of duty versus love. She’s dealing with a lot more than she was in the previous book, and a lot more is riding on her shoulders. As a result she must learn more about Trylle and Vittra history, and develop and control her powers. I really enjoyed reading more about the troll world, and what kind of powers Wendy has yet to come into fully. It was also interesting to watch Wendy go from a carefree teen to a reluctant princess and finally to a dutiful Queen in training. We also get to see a new side of Elora, which made me hate her less, and made her feel more real. I also started feeling sorry for her, which I wasn’t expecting. In fact, there’s quite a few things I wasn’t expecting in this book, and that just made it that much more enjoyable.

I enjoyed this one even more than the first book. I loved learning more about the different trolls, but I especially loved Loki. He’s incredibly handsome and charming, and I’m just drawn to him much like Wendy is. I can’t figure out if he truly feels like they have a connection or if he has an unknown agenda. Either way, I hope to see him again in the next book, and I cannot wait to see how this trilogy ends!

So, we return to the world of the Trylle. Wendy has just returned back into the "normal" world with Rhys, to introduce him to her brother. Of course, Finn and another guy show up to try and tow her back to the Trylle. Of course, she resists and then she gets kidnapped. She discovers a lot more in this book about her family and about the Trylle and the Vittra in general.

I think I liked Torn better than Switched. The plot just engaged me a bit more and I found the love interest a lot more... interesting.

Finn was such an idiot in this book, so rude. He was like all those other jerks in those other books who might have a pretty face but are just so cold and have no emotions. I think he deserved to be left by Wendy, but of course she can't let him go yet. I think she should be with Loki, he seems much sweeter. I still liked Finn but not as much as in the first book. In this book we got to meet his family, which was good.

Wendy was good in this book but not as rebellious as before. She kind of accepts her duty as Princess/Queen. I liked her rebellious spirit, but I can understand why she made the choices she did. (Wow that revelation about Tove was shocking)

I definitely recommend this book to fans of Switched. I can't wait to read Ascend!

I loved Torn better than Switched. I found the plot a lot better than the last book and it was written better, probably because Amanda Hocking had more practice writing books. The writing was good but the One day: Three Ways should of been in the view point of each person it was about, so you could feel more of their emotions.

Finn was such a idiot in this book as he was rude to Wendy so deserved that Wendy fell in love with Loki. I still like Finn but he is not as appealing as before. In Torn you got to meet his family and see his home, which gave more insight into his past. As well you got to put a name to a face because you got to learn more about Thomas, Finn's father. I liked Finn's sister, she seemed like she had a rebellious little soul, which I like a lot about characters.

Wendy was just as good but some of her spirit had died. She still had some fight left in her but she didn't fight for her freedom as much, she just accepted what had happened with Tove and her. Since the book was written in her view you got to know some of the reasons why but I still liked her better in the first book.

This is an excellent read and I cannot wait to read Ascend.

I loved Finn too much that when i started liking Loki, I felt fickle. I didn't like the part where from Finn she gave herself to Loki. In the normal world, normal sense, that is unacceptable. When you love someone, you love him. No matter how difficult it is for the both of you. Well, Finn was being a dick, so he deserved it. But, Wendy could've changed the rules when she became queen. There was still hope but then again, she fell in love with Loki. END OF STORY
