What I Liked:
This book is told from Cassia’s POV as she moves in with a new foster mom after having some terrible things happen to her at her old foster home. She has been through a lot and her new foster mom, Isolde, is so sweet to her and seems to really care about her. Cass meets Thames and Cairo, and there is a lot about them that she doesn’t know, but she catches on that something is different about them. The writing was engaging and the book was hard to put down, you are drawn right into this world. It was so fun to learn about this world of angels and demons with Cassia. Thames was definitely my favorite character, he was a great mysterious, bad boy type. I liked the way he was with Cassia.
What I Didn’t Like:
There is a love triangle, but it didn’t carry on longer than necessary and everyone mostly knew where they stood. There wasn’t a lot of angst and the mystery and fun of learning about this world was my favorite part of the story.
The Final Verdict:
This book had a sort of Obsidian feeling to it, and a little bit of Twilight also. If you love angels and demons, you will love this book.
