In Twilight, Bella Swan moves from Phoenix, Arizona to live with her chief-of-police father in Forks, Washington, one of the rainiest places in the United States.  Bella expects the move to Forks to be extremely boring.  Could she be more wrong?

Bella becomes intrigued by a family with the surname Cullen.  They are adopted, but they all favor one another with their pale skin.  They also miss school when the sun shines and only associate with each other.  She is particularly attracted to Edward Cullen, which is ironic because he is also painfully drawn to her, or at least to the smell of her blood.

Through the book, Bella is described as a magnet for danger.  This statement's truthfulness manifests itself over and over.  Not only has she managed to fall in love with a vampire, but it happens to be the one vampire that wants more than anything to kill her.  That is, until he falls in love with her, too, and devotes all of his time to watch his fragile human and protect her from all of the perils of mortality, which he soon finds is a full time job when Bella finds her life threatened in every way possible.

Overall, I thought this was one of the greatest books I have ever read.  I love to read, and I broke my ultimate rule of always reading the book before watching the movie because I did not think I would be interested in books about vampires.  I liked the movie so much, that I read the book and the next three books in the series within the next two weeks.  I fell in love with the characters of Bella and Edward, and it even made me, a vampire novel skeptic, wish that the world of vampirical teen romance truly existed.

This is also the only series of books that has compared to the Harry Potter series for me (and many others).  Even though the themes of these books are not related, they share the addicting and captivating qualities of creating unique worlds with secrets intwined throughout the entire story.  However, this book covers multiple themes.  I would recommend this book to anyone that is a fan of Harry Potter books, general vampire books, any kind of teen "chick lit" books, or romance books in general.

Okay,
I'll admit it. I first read this book because of the hype. Also,
because the trailer of the movie looked interesting. Lastly, I've been
going through Harry Potter withdrawal and I'm trying to find a fantasy
series to put all of my pent-up energy in. So, now, what I have to say
is this: WHAT IN THE WORLD?!!

This book's premise sounded interesting. Bella moves in with her
dad to a remote town in Arizona and falls in love with a vampire. But I
foolishly thought that the book had more plot than that. It didn't. No,
seriously, where was the plot in this story? Okay, Bella falls in love
with a vampire, then what? I don't know. Do you know why? It never got
past that. I've read both Twilight and New Moon
and all I learned is that Bella is in love with Edward (the vampire).
Bella is being mopey, obsessively in love with Edward for the first
like 400 pages, the last like 50 or so, Bella is being chased by a
vampire. But I am of the firm opinion that the whole being chased by a
vampire thing was there just so Meyer could say that she had a plot.
But she didn't. Or at least not much.

Now, what was up with the relationship between Edward and Bella?
Was it supposed to immensely creepy? Because that's what I got. I'm
supposed to believe that people fall that quickly in love within a
week, without knowing each other, just because they can't figure each
other out? Ooookay. I'm not that thick. And I guess I'm supposed to
believe that Bella loves Edward for more reasons than because he's hot?
I'm not supposed to believe she's shallow? Oookay. Another thing, does
tru wuv actually excuse stalking? Because Bella seemed so ecstatic and
flattered that Edward was following her, yet she did not scream
"FELONY!" like any other sane person would have done.

If I read a story with a teenage heroine, I want her to be strong,
independent, but most importantly, interesting. Bella was none of these
things. She was mopey, pathetic, shallow, and selfish. Edward was all
of these things, but prettier. Do yourself a favor and skip this book.
I'll summarize the story for you:

Girl finds boy. Girl likes boy. Boy ignores Girl. Girl likes Boy
even more. Girl and Boy end up going out. Girl loves Boy. Girl loves
Boy. Girl loves Boy. Girl loves Boy. Girl loves Boy. Girl loves Boy.
Girl gets chased by vampires. Boy saves her. Girl loves Boy. There you
go. I just saved you from reading 400+ pages

I also thought that their relationship was extremely unhealthy.  Let's forget about Bella's obsessive behavior towards Edward for one second and concentrate on him. He seemed like the typical abusive male (granted he didn't really abuse her, but if you squint hard enough and put your head to the side, you can maybe sort of see it).  He was separating her from her family, he watched her sleep without her knowledge (which was uber-creepy in itself), he was STALKING her (um, jealous much?).  Yeah, an ideal relationship, it's not.

The one good thing that I can say about this book is that it's a quick read.  It also keeps you turning the pages.  Sure, I disliked the book through epic proportions, but I could not for the life of me put it down.  So, of course, to me, it was nothing short of torture.  So, I opted to not read Eclipse and go nowhere near Breaking Dawn.  I HAD to break the cycle.

Anyway, do yourself a favor and skip this book.
I'll summarize the story for you:

Girl finds boy. Girl likes boy. Boy ignores Girl. Girl likes Boy

This book is an intruding tale about love. There is a vampire and a human. They both play hard to get but in the end they make love. The vampire, Edward Cullen has an amazing personality. Bella, the human is outragous! At first, she does not know that her boy friend(Edward) is a creepy vampire. This will make you turn the page wherever you are and whenever you are.

Okay....before making this review, I made an attempt to count all of the Twilight reviews but gave up at ten.

Bella Swan, smart, pretty, her blood smells delicious? After moving to Forks, Washington(a real town, cool right?) Isabella Swan quickly finds herself in love with handsome Edward Cullen. Who just so happens to be a vampire!

Before moving on, it almost felt as if Eddie liked Bella because she smelled good, and Bella liked Edward because he was cute. Sweeties, that is not REAL love.

The closer Bella and Edward get, the more danger Bella's life is close to. She is willing to put her life on the line for the man of her dreams and Edward finds himself protecting her from any harm, though harm was soon on its way.

- Vampires gone clean.

5 things I liked/ loved about this book:

- Edward Cullen, what girl doesn't like him? Don't answer that you Teaam Jacob-ers people, whatever it is!

-The umm...natural love Bella and Edward share for eachother.

-All of the exciting lovey- dovey scenes Stephanie seemed to provide us with.

- The cover.

- Alice Cullen.

5 things I didn't like/ HATED about this book:

- The REAL plot didn't come until like beyond page 250.

- Edward's charming beauty is described WAY too many times. Bella, he's cute, we got it after the like fifth time!

- Rosalie.

- I can't name a fourth, move on to the fifth please.

- It's too hard naming FIVE things you don't like about a rare book such as Twilight.

What can I say about Twilight.....well it's a fantastic read if you like vampire books. Twilight is about a girl name Bella who moves to a town called Forks where she lives with her dad Charlie. She meets this guy Edward who at firsts acts like he can't stand her, she realizes theres something different about Edward.Bella almost got hit by a car, but out of nowhere Edward saved her. Thats when Bella realized that he must have some type of power. She researched what he might be on the internet, and asked if he was a vampire. They fall in love with each other pretty quickly. They never even asked each other out. It's like the were just meant to be. Towards the end of the book I started to realize that it seemed like he never really let her breathe in the realationship. He seemed like he was obsessed with her. Theres another love interest for Bella and his name is Jacob. Jacob is bit younger than Bella but he seem more real to me than Edward, Edward gives in to whatever she wants. Jacob just seems real like a person you would know. Jacob has feelings for Bella, but Bella likes Edward. I also don't like how sometime Bella acts kind of whiny. But overall it's a great book!!

About three things I was absolutely positive. First, Edward was a vampire. Second, there was a part of him and I didnt know how dominant that part might be that thirsted for my blood. And third, I was unconditionally and irrevocably in love with him (Twilight by Stephanie Meyer, 2005). The New York Times Bestseller, Twilight, keeps readers thirsty for more! Stephanie Meyer uses descriptive words, which allows reader's to imagine every little thing. Although sometimes it can become a repeating, I mostly look at her adjective and adverb use as a way to make the book more interesting and original.
When Bella Swan decides to leave her sunny home in Phoenix to Forks, WA, a place with constant rain and humid weather, she would have never expected to meet Edward Cullen. On the first day of school, Bella meets Edward, a student who acts as though he is repulsed by her, and his family. Despite their beauty and good looks, they were seen as unpopular and strange. Bella questions herself as to why Edward is being so hostile towards her when they just met. What she doesnt know is that he is trying to resist the powerful scent of her blood. When Edward courageously saves Bella from a dangerous accident, she starts to realize that he has some sort of powers and although Edward doesnt reveal his true identity, he begins to develop a relationship with Bella. Hopelessly in love, Bella chooses to ignore the constant warnings given by Edward that he is a dangerous and bad monster. Through the intriguing clues, she discovers that his warnings were real and that he and his family were vampires, but not the stereotypical kind. Bella soon finds herself trying to run away from a vicious and threatening enemy who is on the hunt for her. Will Edward and his family of powerful vampires be able to save her? To find out, read the book; it will surely amaze you.
If you are expecting the usual violent vampire book, this wont be the book for you. Of course it does have its violence and even comedy, but it mostly rotates around the romance between Edward Cullen and Bella Swan. I think Twilight is a must-read for teens and adults who are eager for a strange and unusual romance between an overprotective vampire and a clumsy human. From when you first start the book to when you have finished, you feel like you are a part of the book and like you know the characters as though they are family. You laugh when its funny, you  get angry when Bella does something stupid and you desperately wish you were as lucky as Bella Swan. Overall I give this book a rating of 5/5 for its amazing ability to suck you in.

The gendered stereotypes that are prevalent in Twilight are dangerous.  First, young girls grow up with the dreams of being a Disney Princesses and once they are out of that stage they are hit by societal norms and pressures. Then they are hit with Twilight.  In this novel, Bella, a smart, young woman moves into a small dreary town only to develop a small group of friends that she is never fully satisfied with.  Boys are drawn to her because she is new, but the only person she is drawn to is Edward Cullen.  Soon they begin a slow courting process and soon Edward reveals that he is actually a vampire and that the reason he is so attracted to Bella is because he would actually like to feed off of her.  Throughout the novel Bella plays the damsel in distress, constantly finding herself in trouble no matter where she is.  But do not worry, Edward Cullen will come and save her& EVERY time.  This book is problematic because it teaches young adults that this kind of behavior is acceptable.  Edward is very forceful and he tells Bella what to do throughout the entirety of the book.  He tells her when he thinks she should eat and even who is driving.  The only time that Bella does not listen to him, she ends up putting herself in danger.  Thus, future perpetuating the idea that she should have listened to Edward or gotten his approval first.  This mindset is dangerous because not only does Twilight make it sound okay to be bossed around but it also makes it seem okay to put your life in danger by getting involved with someone that is not good for you.  Yes, this is just fiction, but what happens when that mindset gets mixed in with a more factual one?  This book only teaches young people that it is okay to treat women like they do not know anything but also that it is acceptable to give up everything for someone you barely know while completely putting your own wellbeing in danger.

Twilight is about a girl named Isabella Swan (who goes by Bella). Bella moves to Forks and is immediately drawn to Edward Cullen. He is like no one she has ever met before and she realizes that sometimes things are not what they seem.I fell in love with Twilight when I started reading it. I would read it whenever I had time and I couldn't stop reading it. When I was reading this book I felt like I really was in the story. This is one of the best books I have ever read and quite possibly my favorite. I will definitely be rereading this book many times.
