In Into the Wild, Rusty, a simple house cat, one day ventures into the forest near his home. There he finds four clans of wild cats, River clan, Shadow clan, Wind clan and Thunder clan. He soon joins Thunder clan in the search of what he did not have when he was a house cat, freedom. He changes his name to Firepaw, and starts up a journey of a lifetime, where learns how to be a warrior.
I loved the idea of the main character, and all the other characters, are cats. This book gives an insight into what cats might think of us. I fell in love with this series and Fireheart's adventures, and I think everyone between the ages of 9-13 would as well. You must read this to believe me, and I hope you will, otherwise you miss out an important book that could of changed your life.

I loved reading this book. Simply loved it. Something for everyone when Rusty the housecat, is plunged into a breathtaking world of adventure when he joins one of the 4 wild clans of the forest; The Thunderclan. I love the suspense and the adventure, and the fact that it is from th point of view of cats, but not in a babyish way. Just like Rusty, you will be stunned as you are introduced to a world of which you can only dream. I would recomend this book for children aged 9-15. I hope you will enjoy reading it as much as I did.

Rusty has a fairly good life. He lives with a family of humans (or
Two-legs) that love him. He gets regular feedings, even if it's yucky
dry stuff. He even has his own little cat door to come in and out of.
Rusty isn't content, however. He dreams of catching mice in the forest
not far from his home. When a night's exploration of that forest ends
with a confrontation with the wild cats that live without human
interference, Rusty readily joins them and their clan. Renamed
"Firepaw", the cat learns that he has dropped smack dab into the middle
of a war. The clan he has joined is called ThunderClan and is ruled by
the magnanimous Bluestar. Other clans like RiverClan, WindClan, and
ShadowClan fight continually for dominance over a rapidly dwindling
food supply. ThunderClan needs recruits like Firepaw to stay alive, and
through their training the new cat is on his way to becoming a warrior.
Along the way he must face hunger, dismissal, and learn some shocking
truths about the animals he's agreed to join.
Hunter conjures up a well-thought out world in which cats have
their own system of governance. This is a kind of "Watership Down", but
with drawn out fighting sequences. The cats here act like cats. They
don't put on vests and waistcoats and discuss philosophy. They don't
stand on their hind legs or use their paws like fingers. These are real
animals. For the sake of keeping them alive, Hunter does create a kind
of Medicine Cat for each clan, who rubs natural herbs into wounds.
That's about as technically adept as these kitties get. At the
beginning of the book, the author presents us with two maps of the area
where this book takes place. A cat-view map lists everything in their
terms. A second human-view map makes it clear where exactly the cats
actually are.

I loved this book! I can't believe Rusty was accepted into ThunderClan! Firepaw is a great name for him because of his orange pelt. Â I have read up to Sunset so far and I am still captivated by Erin Hunter's books! I would like to say that so many people think Warriors is a sissy book series. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes action!!

My personal oppinion is I LOVE this book and the other books in all of the siries. This book is different than other books I have read. it has clans four different ones to be exact and this is a book where you just automatically turn the page. I would recomend this book to people who have always wondered what there cat dreams about!

For all the hosefolk cats who wondered what went on behind thecompforts of kittypet life Rusty is about to go there. A young tom sneaks from his home to explore the forest outside the door step. When he gets caught up in the clan way of life, he is asked to jion the clan. When he agrees, he is still troubled: Will he manage to keep up in the wild cats of the forest? And, will they accept the soft kittypet that showed up on their doorstep. Read the book to find out. Good for those who wish to read adventurous tales in a place where starclan is real, and where the wild cats rome!

I'll have to get my daughter on here--she can say more than I, but these Warrior books rule. She's ten, and reads a lot, but the books that obsess her are rare. Around here, everything is about clans and warriors and kittypets, and she insists on being called by her warrior name, "Spottedstar," and God forgive you if you make it two words, because Spottedstar won't!
If you like fantasy and animals, don't buy just one. Just start with a boxed set.

Rusty is a tame house cat and is very comfortable, thank you very much. But, one day Rusty meets some wild forest cats behind his owners house. He decides to go with them and live in the forest, but he has no idea what he's gotten himself. Rusty soon has a new name, Firepaw and is an apprentice warrior cat in Thundrclan. He finds it's not so easy in the wild and he's scorned by many in the clan because of his "kittypet" past. But, Firepaw starts to like his new life and has an unforgettable adventure that include rougues, new friends and exciting skirmishes with the other clans.
This book is FANTASTIC. Erin Hunter will keep you on the edge of your seat and wanting more of this great story.
