I absolutely love this book. It's about a boy named Billy who really wants a dog bad. He just does just about anything to get a dog. I think this book is good for teaching young kids to respect animals. Theres nothing I can say that I didn't like about this book. It's one of those books that you would want to read again and again. In the end it's really sad how the two dogs die. The reason why they call this book where the Red Fern Grows is because the dogs are buried right near where the red fern is growing. This book made me cried because it was just so sad how those dogs died. It broke Billy's heart. I just thought it was so sweet how he loved those dogs. If i could i would give this book a 10, because it's just that good.
