Despite the fact that the people who run this site put the wrong image up for Rafala's book, the link will take you to the right book at amazon.

Anyway, this is a good read. I usualy do not read short stories, but these are the type seldom seen anymore. In a short period the character(s) grip you, and then leave you with a sense that something real just happened.

Some stories follow the true scifi technical vein, such as "Soul Solution," while others are more human driven, like the center piece, "Wildflower," or the longer story, "Red Dreams." There is an air of the mystical, too, and that adds to the flavor I believe Rafala is trying to produce: that of an unknowning and unpredictable universe.

[Editor's Note: Sorry! Image has since been corrected. I added two books in one night with wildflower in the title and didn't realize they both picked up the same image in the DB!]
