YA Review: Sparks Fly (Hazel Henry)

About the Book:

Three girls, one summer—and the perfect beach read for fans of Gilmore Girls, Jenny Han, and Elin Hilderbrand!

Georgia is bummed to be spending the summer away from her boyfriend, until a local boy catches her eye… Daisy kissed her best friend Owen right before she left for the lake. Does that mean she shouldn’t be hanging out with Mateo, the hot older guy who drives her around? Edenis spending her summer in the woods doing a survival course, which was bad enough before she found out that her ex-boyfriend would be there.

Sometimes you pick up a romance because you want something sweet, and sometimes you end up finding a story that leaves you smiling from beginning to end. Sparks Fly was exactly what I needed. It had the perfect balance of heartfelt moments, charming banter, and a romance that developed naturally enough to make me genuinely invested in the characters.

What I enjoyed most was how easy it was to settle into the story. Hazel Henry created characters I wanted to spend time with, and I found myself rooting for their happily-ever-afters with every chapter. The chemistry felt authentic, the emotional moments landed well, and there was just enough humor sprinkled throughout to keep the story light and fun.

If you’re looking for a feel-good romance that’s full of heart, lovable characters, and leaves you closing the book with a smile, Sparks Fly is definitely one to add to your reading list.
