When it comes to romance, opposites really do attract!

Miyu Suzuki is a bright and bubbly high schooler who’s got a crush. There’s just one little problem—when it comes to personality, the guy she’s into is her polar opposite!

Suzuki’s a high school girl in love, but the guy she’s fallen for is nothing like her! While she’s cheerful, outgoing, and always trying to fit in, her classmate Yusuke Tani is stoic, quiet, and doesn’t seem to care what people think of him. Will Suzuki be able to overcome her anxieties and ask him out, or will she discover that opposites really don’t attract?

You know that book as you're reading you just have a smile on your face the whole entire time?

That was me. I couldn't help but smile as I read this from start to finish. I'm already obsessed with Tani and Suzuki.

Volume 1 starts out with Suzuki coming to realization her feelings for Tani, the quiet kid who sits next to her in class. Suzuki is all things loud and bubbly all while making it an endearing part of her personality. Tani is blunt and isn't afraid to tell Suzuki the truth when she asks him for his opinion on whatever topic she's discussing with her friends.

However, Suzuki wants to portray a certain image of herself and she doesn't know if Tani fits that image. This is what the first volume is about. Suzuki coming to realization that she doesn't care what people think, as long as she's happy. It's heartwarming and endearing and full of the cutest moments already!

I think this is a nice shift from a lot of high school manga where the relationship doesn't happen until the end. Instead, we get the beginning of the relationship and are going to watch them grow into their personalities and figure out their feelings.

Overall, Volume 1 for You and I Are Polar Opposites by Kocha Agasawa is a huge success. I loved this story and the personalities of the characters so far. There were so many cute moments and I cannot wait to see Tani and Suzuki's relationship bloom! The art work was fun and sometimes the conversations did get a little lost on who was talking so if you are brand new to Manga - this might be a little tough to follow. But I highly recommend giving this story a go, and I am already anticipating continuing to Volume 2.
