In this Zodiac Girls book, Danu has to move in with her aunt after her dad has to go away for work. She misses her friends & animals & even her old school. She doesn't fit in at her new school and the only friend she has is the Polish girl her aunt hired to deliver meals to her. She's ultra depressed at her aunt's because it's so boring with no personality in the decor. She even tries to get kicked out of school so her dad will have to come back and get her.

Then she becomes a Zodiac Girl and suddenly things open up to her. The local diner manager becomes her guide and she wins a apartment makeover. Finally she lives in a place she can call home. She begins slowly making friends and she and her aunt begin to have a real relationship.

This book also has a lot of umbelievable stuff. I'm still wodnering if the people in the book, like the guidance counselor, are actual planets or what, but the character Danu is very interesting.

These books are a little younger than Cathy hopkins "Mates, DAtes" series, but worth looking into if you;re a fan of hers.
