Shabanu's the desert who lived with her family. She's jeolous of her beautiful sister,Phulan, The big problem in the book is Phulan's fiance got killed by Nazir Mohammad who tried to rape Phulan but Shabanu helped her by throwing a water pot at him. He was so mad at them. Everyone thought it was Shabanu's fault. Shabanu's dad chaged everything. He made Phulan marry Shabanu's fiance and forced Shabanu to marry Nazir Mohammad's older brother who was really rich. Shabanu wanted to be free she had to decide if she wanted to get marry or run away.

I like this book. It took place in the desert so I learned something new about culture. I give this book a 4 because I think it's hard to follow the story and sometimes it's hard to understand.

Daughter of the Wind is a great "coming of age" story of a girl called Shabanu who has to live life as a nomad in the Chlostan Desert. The plot builds up quite a bit before the end, and you really feel like something big is going to happen. But I believe the ending was too sudden and sad. Sure, it makes you want to read the next book, but it was too much. Other people I know who read it even looked for extra pages at the end, as they thought it hadn't finished or been printed wrong. Although the plot and story line was very effective and exciting, I sometimes felt disappointed at some parts of the book. But read it yourself and tell me what you think!

Shabanu is the youngest daughter of the best camel herder in the Cholistan desert. Life in the desert can be very difficult. As her sister Phulans wedding draws ever close, Shabanu knows that their family will never be whole again. Most of this book centers around what life is like in the Cholistan. The last few chapters are quite plot-intensive, making the whole book worthwhile for readers who are expecting an adventure.
