The Peanuts Gang

‘Snoopy on the Job,’ a Level Two Ready-to-Read book, is yet another cute tale from the imagination of Charles M. Schulz, creator of the original Peanuts cartoons. Based on ‘The Snoopy Show’ episode of the same name, the book tells the story of Lucy’s yard sale and how Snoopy and Woodstock really want to find the perfect item to take home with them. When they find an empty fishbowl, they creatively see themselves diving underwater, until something stirs them from their thoughts. When they don’t have a way to pay for the item, they make a deal with Lucy, but when that deal goes south for Lucy, based on Snoopy and Woodstock’s silliness and determination to get what they want, readers get to have some laughs at the characters’ expense.

This story has longer sentences, simple chapters, and high-interest vocabulary words. There are adorable illustrations and readers can be easily taken into the world of the story and feel like they’re right there with Lucy, Snoopy, Woodstock, and the rest of the Peanuts gang. Definitely a fun story for young readers, but fans of the classic cartoons will enjoy it equally as much.
