Tim Daniel : Dirty little secret time–I don’t play video games much because I’ve always been just terrible at them–but I often ride alongside my daughters and their ages are 10 and 24 so I get a wide variety of

exposure:

 Stray

 The Quarry

 Red Dead Redemption

 Last Of Us

 Legend Of Zelda

 Uncharted

 Spider-Man

 Mario Kart

 Jedi Fallen Order

And stuff like Among Us, The Untitled Goose Game, Donut County, Fall Guys and Splatoon. In other

words, there’s always games happening in the household.

1. And why?

Tim Daniel : The answer to all the above is simple:  story. Whatever it is I’m enjoying typically has a strong story, involving characters with a sense of depth, and often in film/television and comics—there are compelling visuals. Nothing beats a clear creative voice–characters that engage, stories that challenge and involve me. I like to be entertained like everyone else, but I also embrace being challenged. I don’t mind doing a little work, some close reading or a rewatch. In fact, it is often those stories that stick around and endure. What we often deem commercially successful is not always built with longevity in mind.

Does END AFTER END have a playlist? If so, can you share each of yours?

Tine Daniel: 

END AFTER END SOUNDTRACK

David Andry:  Not a specific playlist, but I was listening to a lot of Lord Huron, especially in the second half of the series, so you’ll have to wait for volume 2 to find out how that influenced the things on the page.

Any convention/show appearances for you in 2023?

Tim Daniel:  Right now, David & I are hard at work making a lot of new books and because of that for the

foreseeable future I do not have any plans to attend conventions or shows this calendar year. I do miss it

dearly and I think our rather jam-packed 2024 will be the perfect time to return!

David Andry: I do a lot of the smaller shows in the Northern California area. I’ll be at SDCC, mostly as a fan.

About Tim Daniel:

Creator, writer, and
designer, Tim Daniel got his start in comics writing The
Walking Dead: Survivor’s Guide for Robert Kirkman’s
Skybound Entertainment. (He later became a zombie himself in the show’s pilot
episode). In 2012, Tim’s first original comic, Enormous, was
published by Image Comics. Enormous later returned to print in
2014 as an ongoing series from 215Ink. Since then, Tim has written and co-created Burning
Fields and Curse (both with BOOM!), as well as Skinned (Monkeybrain), The
Plot (co-written with Michael Moreci for Vault Comics), Fissure (Vault
Comics), End After End (Vault Comics), Denizen for Nightfall:
Double Feature (with David Andry)  (Vault Comics), and is an
acclaimed designer in publishing and pop culture.
