Busy Seek & Find

Reminiscent of Richard Scarry’s Busy World series, It’s Busy Down in the Woods Today shows all the jobs and activities that happen in the woods, during the day.
It’s Busy Down in the Woods Today is the seventh book in the Brown Bear Wood series. The other books are Grand Old Oak and the Birthday Ball; If You Go Down to the Woods Today; The Great Easter Egg Hunt; I Love You Always; and A Search-and-Find Coloring Book.

Each spread features a read-aloud poem and list hidden items. the rhyming verses are not great for bigger crowd, but perfect for cozier settings like cuddling on the couch!

The illustration covering the each spread is extremely detailed with tons of life and so much going on. The animals and their profession gain center stage as the various activities they perform are showcased in little sections spread across the two pages. Readers will get a kick out of the animals doing their “jobs” and other every day activities, such as bringing momma doe breakfast in bed, traveling to and from work, and building pillow forts. There is something fun and relatable for just about every reader.

The rhymes flow seamlessly and naturally right along with the joyful, visual moments. There’s a lovely sense of happiness and community, which is hard to miss. While the joy of living and working together comes across in each moment, readers also learn a bit about the various jobs people do and how they contribute to life and/or the community.
At the end of the seek & find, there’s a page asking WHAT DOES A BUSY DAY LOOK LIKE FOR YOU? This is questions gets readers thinking about their day and encourages them to ask other’s about theirs. This main question is followed up by several others, such as “What do you enjoy most about your work?” or “What do you need to wear?” All of these other questions revolve around jobs that people do.

It’s Busy Down in the Woods Today is full of adorable characters in highly illustrated scenes that kids will love exploring.
