interactive board book to explore the farm
MY BIG PLAYBOOK: FARM is a charming, interactive board book that explores things that can be found on the farm. The book features themes by page and then shows a bunch of illustrations of that theme, such as animal sounds, baby animals, and things that go. Each page features a felt flap to lift and peek behind as well.
What I loved: This is a fun book for little ones to explore. The felt flaps and peek-throughs are a nice touch that bring some texture and interaction to the text. The groupings of objects/animals were thoughtful and helps to develop some pattern recognition. Each image is labeled with a large, clear font which also helps in early word recognition. The book also touches on numbers.
The book concept is simple, but there’s a great range of skills that little ones can pick up as they go through the book. The last flap also includes a mirror so that little ones can see themselves (grouped in the “things that grow” category). The illustrations are colorful throughout with plenty to visually explore on each page. Flaps are also very sturdy and well attached – the soft felt is a nice touch!
This will work best for the youngest readers who can appreciate the learning value without a story.
Final verdict: MY BIG PLAYBOOK: FARM is an entertaining and interactive board book that helps to teach patterns, words, and numbers to the youngest readers.
