Hi, YABCers!
Today we’re super excited to celebrate the cover reveal for
Survivor Mountain (Sarah Floyd), releasing November 25, 2025!
Before we get to the cover, here’s a note from the author:
Hello YABCers!
I’m thrilled to share the cover of my newest novel, Survivor Mountain! It’s an action-adventure-survival thriller — but at its heart, it’s a story of healing and redemption — about finding the courage to become the hero of your own story.
Survivor Mountain includes a sweet first-crush, first-kiss romantic thread and plenty of suspense and danger, but no graphic violence. I wrote it for readers ages 11–15, although many of my beta readers (especially women who love MG and YA) have said it brought them right back to that exciting time of intense friendships, frenemies, and first-crush emotions.
I hope you’ll love Survivor Mountain as much as I loved writing it! 💛

Fake it ’til you make it — that’s what Dani’s older sister always said.
Thirteen-year-old Dani never asked to be responsible for her younger sister on the school field trip to the Santa Cruz Mountains — but no one expected a massive earthquake to strand them far from help. Now with no cell service, dwindling supplies, and dangerous terrain, Dani, her sister Lily, and Dani’s secret crush, Miles, must find a way off the mountain on their own.
But nature isn’t the only threat. As they navigate the rugged wilderness, they cross paths with strangers who aren’t who they claim to be — and a sinister plot begins to unfold. Trapped in a high-stakes con-game, the trio’s only chance of escape is to work together.
That’s easier said than done. Ever since their older sister’s death, Dani and Lily have barely spoken, each silently blaming the other. Now, they must learn to trust each other again if Dani’s daring plan has any chance of success.
If she fails, they might never make it home. But if she succeeds, Dani won’t have to fake it ’til she makes it anymore — she will prove that she is becoming the person she wants to be.
Bold. Brave. Decisive. Her older sister would be proud.
About the Author: Sarah Floyd

Sarah Floyd was born in Carmel Highlands, California, where she and her friends roamed the Big Sur wilderness that surrounded their homes. When she was in fifth grade her family moved to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and then to San Francisco, California. Sarah always brought her favorite books wherever she moved, and she always made new friends who loved to read. Now she writes books for children and teens — for her, it’s the best job in the world.
Sarah likes to weave elements of her life into her stories. As a teen, she faced challenges with post-traumatic stress, depression, and anxiety — experiences reflected in Survivor Mountain, which includes an author’s note encouraging readers to reach out for mental health support when needed. The novel’s adventure scenes draw on her training with the National Outdoor Leadership School, where she learned wilderness survival skills.
Survivor Mountain is Sarah Floyd’s third book. Her other books are Butterfly Girl, a middle grade novel, and Ten Clever Ninjas, a children’s picture book. She lives in Florida with her husband and son. To learn more, please visit her website: sarafloydbooks.com
