A Break With Charity is an amazing historical novel. And if you like a book that gives you a little shiver down your spine, this will give you one too. The cool thing? It's true. Of course, it's historical fiction, which means the author takes some liberties, but the gist of it is true.
A Break With Charity is the story of the salem witch trials. With interesting characters, a devoted heroine, imposing antagonists, and a little romance to boot, I guarantee you'll love this book.

I have never liked learning history from books. I know it is important in order to learn where you come from and so that past mistakes are not made again, but to me, textbooks are so boring.
However, this book has a lot of history packed into it and is not the least bit boring. The author uses characters in their teenage years to involve the reader. Every page is jammed pack with anticipation, excitement, and continues to draw the reader in.
For anyone who likes adventures, excitement, and things based on actual events, this is a must-read book. I highly recommend it for anyone in their preteens on up.

"A Break with Charity" is spellbinding, I didn't want to put it down. Susanna English wants to be accepted by a group of girls but when they begin to accuse people of being witches Susanna has to choose between being accepted and the ability to save her family or try and stop them to save others at the risk of losing her family. Ann Rinaldi uses both fictional and real characters to bring the Salem Witch Trials to life. Rinaldi makes history fun and interesting. This book is one of the best written historical fiction I've read in a while.
