"Among the Hidden" by Margret Peterson Haddix is a story that you can't put down. With all of the suspense, secrets and lies Haddix has you sitting on the edge of your seat. In no time Haddix will have you sypathising with Luke. By the end all you feel is inticipation, fear and nerves for Luke's next journey.

I thought that this book was very good. I liked the others also but I did not like the last one, Among the Free. There is no page for that one so I am posting my review here. I thought Among the Free was rather boring and that the title should have been something different, such as Among the Confused or Among the Rebellions because the title gave it away completely. I liked it but I thought it was boring and rather predictable. Despite my review, you should still read this book.

This is a great book that starts a great series. A young boy, Luke, lives in time when only 2 children are permitted. But Luke is the third child in his family. As a result, he must hide or be found and taken away by the Population Police. But as he grows older, he begins to wonder, are there any other hidden third children out in the world besides him? And if there are, where are they? The answer may just be closer than he thinks.

This idea of how the future could be is quite unique and this book is a great read. I would recommend this book to young adults.
