In the 6th Artemis Fowl book, Artemis' mother falls ill with a terrible disease, and the only cure is in the brain fluid of a lemur - that Artemis himself caused to go extinct. He must travel back in time and bring the lemur back to the present, but to do so he has to face his newest and most challenging adversary - himself.

I thought this book was quite good. I couldn't put it down. I love the Artemis Fowl books because they are quick to read, often funny, and really suck you in and let you escape from the outside world.

If you're looking for with story with likeable (though not overly deep) characters, and a good, action based plot, this is the book for you.

14-year-old Artemis Fowl has just returned from Limbo. Three years have passed since he left, but he hasn't gotten any older. He has retired from his life of crime, spending his days with his parents and two-year-old twins Myles and Beckett. Suddenly his mother is stricken ill. The only cure is the brain fluid from a lemur. The only problem, Artemis killed the last one almost 8 years ago. With the help of his fairy friend Holly Short, a flatulent dwarf named Mulch, and a demon warlock called No.1, Artemis must go back in time and face his biggest enemy yet, his 10-year-old self.

The Time Paradox is a unique prequel within a sequel, that will leave you glued to your chair until the end. After being disappointed with the last book I was hesitant to read this, but I was not let down. I enjoyed comparing the two Artemis', elder and younger. We get a little more insight into Butlers feelings. His loyalty to Artemis, but also his compassion for the helpless lemur. The twist at the end was a little predictable but still enjoyable. It was filled with action packed scenes, a memorable one involving a gorilla and Mulch Diggums, incapacitated having eaten a little too much soil. While this wasn't my favorite book in the series, it was thoroughly enjoyable and I can't wait for the next book!
