Beacons of Light looks at lighthouses from the first one built in Alexandria, to how they are used today with changing technology. It shows the various designs throughout history, and how they have changed over time.
What I Liked: This book has great information that kids will love. It is easy to understand and the illustrations add to the wonderful descriptions. As someone who loves lighthouses, I really enjoyed this book. I had no idea how lighthouses are used today, but it is great to see that they still hold a purpose.
What Left Me Wanting More: Nothing! Kids who love learning will adore this book. I liked that a list of lighthouses was included as kids can explore them online and perhaps, take a trip to one at some point.
Final Verdict: An informative, fun book with colorful, eye-catching illustrations that will appeal to younger children. I would definitely recommend this book.
