This book is one of the best books i have ever read and i am so enthralled in the blue bloods series i especiallly like oliver because he is so sweet with the way he loves schyler and that he would do anything for her. i also like the way schyler and oliver dont really care and dont particularly want to fit in with the 'in' crowd of the school. I have read them absolutely loads! i cannot wait until the next one comes out!! I wish melissa would write faster.....lol

I don't think there is a better word for this book than "fresh". It was
so refreshing reading about clothes and the fashion elite for a while.
I love Blue Bloods world. I would love to be a vampire like that! I
also love her writing. The fact that each chapter is extremely short
and shows a specific scene is so captivating. The chapters are so fast
read that you never seem to stop.

The characters are
interesting. I still don't know any of them very well, this is the
first book though. You seem to have the feeling that you suspect
everyone has secrets so it works with the plot. She could not have
ended the story any better. That was my favorite part-the last scene.

I
am not a big fan of the cover, I think it could have been so much
prettier or dark or mysterious but it does match the story. At any rate
I read the first chapter of the next book -it was at the end of my
book- and I am so desperate to start reading the next one that I will
stop writing this review NOW! Great Book!

I didn't really enjoy this book, partially because it just wasn't the type of thing I'd usually read but since I wasted a good two days of my life trying to get through it I feel entitled to review it.

Blue Bloods is about a group of upper class New York teenagers who are vampires. One of them is murdered early on in the book which has everybody worried because apparently you can't kill a vampire.  It is basically a combination of Twilight and Gossip Girl though it seems to lean more towards Gossip Girl.

One of the most annoying things about the book for me was the endless descriptions of designer clothes. I guess a more fashion savvy person would probably be able to understand the difference between Prada pearls and just regular pearls but I just found it stupid and irritating. Also the multi paragraph descriptions of what every character was wearing seemed to slow things down and kill a few of my brain cells in the process. I don't mind the occasional description of what a character is wearing but describing Mimi's outfit down down to her designer underwear is unnecessary. Do we really need to know what type of thong Mimi is wearing to enjoy the story?

The characters themselves seemed to be lacking, the author rotates through three different points of view. Just when you were getting a feel for what Schuyler might be like suddenly your hearing about Mimi's shopping spree or Bliss's fancy apartment. However the only really annoying character in the book is Mimi, the stuck up popular girl. Which is unusual for books like this, usually all the characters are popular and stuck up to a degree but Schuyler and Bliss were okay and you can relate to them somewhat. They're probably the only reason I gave this book two stars instead of one.

Then there is the plot which doesn't seem to really start until the very end of the book. Up until then you get a lot of vampire history and some backstory on Schuyler's family. Then as if the book wasn't fashion obsessed enough the author throws in a pointless modeling subplot, in which Bliss and Schuyler do a photoshoot. They discover that several famous supermodels are actually Blue Bloods. All in all it has nothing to do with the plot and seems to only have been put in the book so the author would have another opportunity to list off brand names. The book ends with a cliff hanger designed to make you buy the next book and there is minimal resolution.

I personally wouldn't reccomend this to someone whose actually interested in a story about vampires. A lot of what was good about the book was lost with the endless descriptions of designer clothing and flat characters. If you do want to read the book I'd check it out from the library before buying it.

The first novel in a series, we meet Schuyler Van Alen. She's an outcast, and sticks to her friend Oliver. After turning fifteen, she notices the veins in her body are becoming more prominent. She is told that she is a vampire, and something very dark is trying to kill them all. Schuylers relationship with the characters, such as Jack, seems rushed, but effective. Mimi is, typically, upset at the competition for his attentions, and Bliss has some secrets that she's even keeping from herself...A great first novel, and start to a series.

This is one of the best vampire books that I have read sooo far. :]] The vampires are sooo different. For example, they have these really cool tattoos on the inside of their arm, that show that they are true Blue Bloods. Another cool thing that shows that they are Blue Bloods is that they glow in the dark to other Blue Bloods. I loved the storyline with all the twists and turns it takes. I would highly recommend this book to any vampire lovers. :]]

I was not too impressed with where this story led the reader. The characters were not exciting enough and the way the vampires were portrayed was too cynical and juvenile. I also was not captivated with the writing style but maybe it is because I was reading it at an older age and it did not relate to me. I recommend vampire reads like Twilight more so over this series.

Blue Bloods is a gripping horror novel. Its compact with glamour, sex and vampires!
When young teens are dieing who do you call? Well Schuyler Van Allen is the typical lazy girl until she's faced with the biggest descion of her life, a normal life or her density?
This book shows the in's and out's of a vampires life. Since once you get it in your hands you can't let it down.

Blue Bloods is about a girl Schuyler Van Allen who finds out that she is a vampire. She was always an outcast but as soon as she realizes that she is a Blue Blood she is accepted and thrust into Manhattan's most elite social groups. But when Blue Bloods start dying Schuyler starts questioning if the elders are hiding something.

This is a great series and i thoroughly enjoyed this book. I read it all in one night it was so good. Schuyler is a girl that anyone can relate to. She always has this misfit sense about her and at times we can all relate to her.

When the Mayflower set sail in 1620, it carried on board the men and
women who would shape America: Miles Standish; John Alden; Constance
Hopkins. But some among the Pilgrims were not pure of heart; they were
not escaping religious persecution. Indeed, they were not even human.
They were vampires. The vampires assimilated quickly into the New World.
Rising to levels of enormous power, wealth, and influence, they were
the celebrated blue bloods of American society. The Blue Bloods vowed
that their immortal status would remain a closely guarded secret. And
they kept that secret for centuries. But now, in New York City, the
secret is seeping out. Schuyler Van Alen is a sophomore at a
prestigious private school. Suddenly, when she turns fifteen, there is
a visible mosaic of blue veins on her arm. She starts to crave raw food
and she is having flashbacks to ancient times. Then a girl from her
school is found dead . . . drained of all her blood. Schuyler doesn't
know what to think. Could those vampire legends really be true? Steeped
in vampire lore and set against the heady backdrop of the rich, young,
and powerful in the heart of New York City, Blue Bloods will be
devoured by Melissa de la Cruzs legion fans.

Melissa De La Cruz
did an amazing good writing this book.It was like Gossip girl meets
Twilight. I loved it. Sky finds out she is part of the blue bloods,
which is like some kind of High society club/charity thing made up of
vampires. She veins start to show, and there blue(weird). They are like
the descendants of the people from the mayflower. Blue bloods is so
unique, there's not another vampire book like it.
