Schuyler&her friends or lack of them are able to make an amazing start to this series.
The Force twins' destiny is a little creepy especially for today's standards but I can't wait for the second one.
I love the fact that Schuyler is not a full blood it only makes this character more interesting& unique: DD

Welcome to the lives of the Manhattan elite. Only, these people are different from what most people would think. Theyre Blue Bloods or vampires. The signs start to appear when you reach the age 15. Blue veins become more apparent in their arms, and they get visions of historical events. They crave raw meat and if they tried, they would find out that they cant really die. All this happens to Schuyler, an outcast at her elite school which sort of leads to her acceptance in the school.

But they are being threatened. Some of them have been attacked and even murdered by a mysterious foe. Schuyler and her best friend Oliver, who isnt a Blue Blood, do some research and find out that their enemy is a Silver Blood, or a Blue Blood who drinks the blood over other Blue Bloods to become more powerful.

I really enjoyed reading this new idea about vampires. I also liked the connections to the history of the colony of Roanoke. There was much action, suspense, and even romance in this novel and it really kept me guessing. I recommend this book to all vampire novel fans.

Okay, for those of you who read the first three books in the Twilight series and are waiting for the next ones, read this book! It's about vampires and a vampire romance! Except he thinks she's her mother who he's married in his past lives, to understand what I just said, read the book!

Schulyer Van Alen, an orphan, is an outsider. Yet, Jack Force, the most popular guy in school seems drawn to her. And her veins are turning blue. Not to mention, she's starting to have deep cravings for raw, bloody meat.

Schulyer finds that she is a Blue Blood, that is, a vampire. Yet, all is not what it seems in the Blue Blood world.
When one of the popular, blue blood girls is found dead, havoc breaks loose.

Because Blue Bloods are not supposed to die.
And Schulyer and her friends need to get to the bottom of the problem. Before something else bad happens.

I loved this book, I thought it was a pretty unique type of vampire that Melissa de la Cruz ha created, as well as her way of entwining the story. The characters are real and relatable. The only qualms I had about this book was that it was too short, I never wanted it to finish.

now this book is no twilight, but good non the less. I like to read books with different discriptions of vampires and i like the ones in this book alot. The storyline is pretty good but if you really hate cliff hangers dont read this because the ending of this story is one of the biggest cliff hangers i have ever read in a book. what kept me reading wasnt the silver bloodpart of the story, but the wanting to know what was going to happen between jack and Schuyler.

This book was really, really, really good! I loved it because it put a new spin on things. In this book, vampires are upscale people and they go to school just like you and me. Even though they're high-class rich kids, these vampires have enemies too. I look forward to the sequel!

I am an avid reader of vampire books and i have to say that this book was not great but it wasnt awful either.
The story revolves around schulyer who goes to this private school filled with rich snobs. she becomes infatuated with the most popular guy in school while having no clue that her best guy friend is in love with her.
Weird things start to happen and she recieves a letter asking her attendance at a meeting she has never heard of. There she finds out that she is in fact a vampire.
The story picks up with her trying to find out a secret/mystery that you will just have to read it yourself. I will not spoil the ending but i will say that it ended waaaaay too soon (practically in the middle of the "mystery") thank goodness the the sequel to it "Masquerade: A Blue Bloods Novel " will come out 4/07!!

Books about vampires seem to be the new trend. However, Melissa de la Cruzs wonderful rendition of this favorite is refreshing, mysterious, and totally engaging.

Duschesne, a private high school in New York City, is comprised of the citys most elite and promising youths. Beautiful, intelligent, and privileged, these kids come from the most powerful families in the city, the ones who have helped shaped the citys history and given NYC its famous culture and landmarks.

Schuyler Van Alen comes from a once-powerful family whose wealth has declined over the years, and she does not feel like she fits in with the Duschesne students. Schuyler and her best friend Oliver are outcasts. Never in a million years would their spheres collide with Mimi Force and her twin brother Jacks world. Mimi is the queen of Duschesne, and Jack is her male counterpart. Always surrounding Mimi are Mimi-clones like Bliss Llewellyn, an out-of-place Texas girl who feels like she does not belong in the in-crowd.

When a classmate is found dead, the truth begins to reveal itself. It turns out that many of them are Blue Bloods, vampires who make up the nations most elite and powerful influences throughout history. They can never die: only their blood is saved and then regenerated when they need to be reborn again, so they have memories of their past lives which are all interconnected with one another.

However, someoneor somethingis definitely killing Blue Bloods. Who is more powerful than the supposedly invincible Blue Bloods? Most of The Committee, the group of adult vampires who make and enforce the rules for the Blue Bloods, denies that the Blue Bloods are in danger. Schuyler, Oliver, and their new friend Bliss are determined to find out whats going on, though. For Bliss, she wants to know who killed Dylan, her sort-of boyfriend. For Schuyler, she wants to know why Jack is acting so weird around her, one day talking to and kissing her, the next day completely ignoring her.

BLUE BLOODS is exciting and promises an equally amazing sequel. Melissa de la Cruz deftly crafts a wondrous yet believable world. Well researched and written, readers will close the book with a sense of impatience as they wait to find out what happens to the characters next.
