Diana Wynne Jones's sequel to Howl's Moving Castle is an enjoyable read, but does not quite live up to its prequel.

It focuses on another land, just south of Ingary (the land HMC is set in), on a poor merchant, Abdullah. One day, he comes upon a magic carpet that takes him to a beautiful princess and falls in love with her immediately. Unfortunately, she is whisked away by a djinn and her father decides to hang Abdullah. Pretty soon, Abdullah is on the run for his life, and meets up with some interesting characters: a soldier, a cat who appears to undrestand him, and a cute little kitten.

This sequel was fun to read, but it wasn't all that exciting. It was slower than HMC and lacked a sort of humor that HMC had. Also, the characters from HMC didn't show up until the last quarter of the book or so. Still, Castle in the Air, was enjoyable, and I think people should definetly check it out!
