Asher and his twin siblings, Maisie and Finn, have just learned that they will be spending spring break in Hill Lake after their Great Aunt Hattie passed away suddenly. They are prepared for a boring week until they catch sight of the Rag and Bone Man. This moment leads them to meet with other residents in this small town as they try to uncover this mystery of the Rag and Bone Man, and help end the curse.

What I Liked: This story instantly places you into the setting where this book will take place and introduces you to our three main characters. Asher is instantly a character that you are intrigued by and is one you follow just to see what he is going to find out using his skills. While the twins seem bothersome at first, they become a large part of the story, and their role throughout the book is fascinating as the villains count them out due to their age.

The book does a fantastic job of building tension and holding the attention of its audience throughout, as you have to know what happens to everyone. The epilogue to this story was fascinating, and it's important to read so that you get more context for the events that take place throughout this book.
Each of the chapters in this book is short, and the book is full of various illustrations to ensure that the story comes to life for its readers. The spooky illustrations add to the story as they are in black and white, but the various details help the passages in this book come to life and instill fear in its young audience.

Final Verdict: The Rag and Bone Man is a thrilling story that children 10 and up will enjoy as they sit on the edge of their seats, enjoying the mixture of spooky and fun that these stories have. This book is perfect for those of you who have enjoyed other books in the Creepers series or those of you who enjoy Jasper Rabbit’s Creepy Tales.
