This is not a book I would recommend. I was wary of it when I first picked it up, and I have to admit I regret ever reading it. The plot is overall predictable, and overtly cliched. The characters themselves also appear very flat and static, and any character development over the course of the book is minimal.

Overall: if you're looking for a time waster, go right ahead, but I most definitely know there are better books out there that you might enjoy more.

Very predictable. Laura Sweeney is your average geek who wants a boyfriend. She sends out a plea to the Roman gods and Mercury catches her message. Cupid is disguised as Cupidity and wreaks havoc throughout the school, pairing up the most mismatched couples. For example: a cheerleader with nerd boy, skater dude with nerd girl and golden boy with goth girl. Cliche!

The story gets really annoying when Laura goofs up and now she has to find Venus before the disguise runs out. A long goose chase ensues leading to some boring and cheesy parts. The ending is too predictable and upsetting. The mostly mismatched pair a.k.a the golden boy and goth girl stay together! Very unrealistic, considering the fact that the jocks NEVER mingle with the goths in real life! And the pair have nothing going between them!

The sum it up: the book should be titled Stupidity instead of Cupidity! That's what this book was--STUPID! The same worst-case scenarios get old pretty quick and you wonder why you wasted hours of your life reading something you could have very well seen on TV. The whole book plays out like an 80s teen flick, complete with all the characters. Cheesy, predictable, unrealistic and BORING!

I have a policy of finishing every book I read, even when it's killing me.

I did not enjoy this novel, nor did I find anything enjoyable about it. The characters are very flat and unlikeable. The storyline is completely improbable - Cupid becomes female, once on Earth? And then Laura, the main character, ends up dealing with a whole crop of Gods?

I just can't say anything nice about this novel. It was excrutiating for me to get through, but I am proud of myself for finishing it anyway, despite the fact that it is not a novel I would recommend to anyone.

If someone is feeling brave enough to read it, I would say this one is probably suitable for ages 14 and up.

The fact that I put down this book for days without continuing to read it says it is not as great as i thought. It is about a girl's plea for help and cupid in the form of a hot girl comes to her rescue. It is quite funny at times but there is no real substance to the story or no real romance.

Laura Sweeney is desperate to get a boyfriend, so she prays to Mercury for help. Mercury enlists Cupid to finish off the job, so he is given a disguise as a beautiful girl to go and befriend Laura and find her perfect mate, but under 1 condition, the disguise ends on the 25th day. Cupidity wrecks havoc as soon as she gets there. People from the opposite ends of the social ladder start falling in love, under Cupiditys bow and arrow.

But one day, something goes horribly wrong and Laura pierces Cupidity with one of her own arrows. Cupidity loses all recollection of herself and Laura tries to find a way to reverse the spell before time runs out. She contacts a Conjure Woman, but that makes the situation worse. The only way to reverse the problem is to find Venus.

I thought that this book was ok. I liked the mixing of Roman mythology and modern day life. Cupidity was a bit cheesy, but it makes a fun, easy read, especially when you need a break from reality. Id give this book 3 out of 5 stars.

When I saw this book I thought that it would be about the little baby cupid and his little tricks. And I was partialy right. In this book some things are way out of order. Things are so unorganized and get out of contol. This book is fun and original. Unpredictable, catchy, and insane.
Anyone who thinks that they need Cupid in their life, should definatly read this book. They'll enjoy it.
