Welcome to New York City's Upper East Side, where my friends and I live in luxe Fifth Avenue apartments and attend Manhattan's most exclusive private schools. We're smart, we've inherited classic good looks, we wear fantastic clothes, and we know how to party. We can't help it-we were born this way. Our story begins with three inseparable, completely gorgeous fifteen-year-olds, Serena van der Woodsen, Blair Waldorf, and Nate Archibald. Blair's loved Nate and his glittering green eyes since she was in Bonpoint onesies. Too bad Nate wishes Blair's beautiful best friend, Serena, was the one with the crush. And Serena has a secret she's keeping from them both. Hmmm, something tells me these best friends may not be as close as we thought. . . . How do I know all this? Because I know everything-and lucky for you, I can't keep a secret. So sit back while I untangle this messy little tale and tell you how it all began. Admit it, you're already falling for me. You know you love me. gossip girl

I really enjoy the Gossip Girl series. Serena and Blair (around whom the series is focused) are fabulously wealthy and beautiful. This is a typical teenage drama - except way more glamorous. While I can't identify with the way these girls spray money around, I can definitely identify with the issues they face - the boy drama, the heartaches, etc. I think any teenage girl will be able to relate to this series. The writing is surprisingly witty, and the entire series is very addictive. BooksOnBoard (www.booksonboard.com) is giving some of them away right now: http://www.booksonboard.com/index.php?BODY=viewbook&BOOK=156476. And if you aren't a Serena van der Woodsen or a Blair Waldorf, free is a pretty good price! I definitely recommend this series to any teenage girl.

This is the best of the Gossip Girl series. It actually takes you back before the 1st book in the series and clears up allthe rumors we've read about and explains why certain characters like or dislike each other.

I now understand why Serena and Nate got together and how she backed off only because of problems Blair was goign through. The whole storyline with Nate made me really dislike him! I also now understand why Serena left and how Blair's eating disorder started.

The book also takes you back to how Blair got that little gold heart she sewed in Nate's sleeve. One thing I questioned was Nate giving her the ruby ring. I thought her father had given her that ring.

One ofthe best parts of the book is that the city is much more of a factor in this one. Instead of just name-dropping places the group goes, they describe the buildings, park and even Tiffany's! The book takes it's time and delves into the settingsand the characters much more than any of the others. We even learn info on Kati and Isabel...one who is quite intelligent.

By far the best book in the series. If you liked the first two books and then felt you were reading the smae story over, then pick this one up. You won't be disappointed. You know you'll love it.
