Tasha lives in the projects of Buffulo, New York. One night at the skating rink with some girl friends Tasha is lured outside by some stranger who then rapes her. 9 months later Imani is born to 15 year old Tasha. Highschool is increasingly hard taking care of Imani and maintaining her high grades.

Through the story you will fall in love with Imani and Tasha and see how much their mother/daughter relationship grows. When the story is just getting quiet you will be astonished by the ending.

I loved this story although the middle was kinda quiet. The end caught me though and held me for days I was so sad. I reccomend this novel to girls 14+.
