Entertaining and informative book about outer space!
ACTUAL FACTUAL FILES: OUTER SPACE is an engaging collection of information about space from the planets to galaxies to astronauts and astronomers. The book uses an approachable tone to teach children about these topics and give plenty of cool facts and information along the way.
What I loved: This is a really approachable way for children to dive deeper into the topic of outer space. The reading level is perfect for chapter book readers with plenty of color and call-outs to help break up the text and prevent reading fatigue. The inclusion of images and illustrations make it a really fun book to visually explore and help to convey the selected outer space topics nicely.
The book takes the information a step or two further than what children might have already read from picture and other books at this age, giving lots of interesting information about space and the things in it, as well as how we study it. The book includes a table of contents, as well as a glossary and index to help children find the topics they are most interested in and increase learning.
The topics are well selected, covering the basics well and giving some advanced facts and information along the way – all with a conversational tone that will appeal to the intended audience.
