I loved this whole series. "The Ever After", "May Bird Among The Stars" and May Bird Worrior Princess."  It was a fun and adventurous story. I liked the way the author described in detail the inner struggles of the lead character, May Bird, as a young girl, through her teenage years. The group of friends that joined her on her journey were so much fun. Their personalities were very dynamic. The character Pumpkin was her guardian angle thoughout the whole series. In the end you can see he never let her down. It leaves the reader with a strong message about how people get attached to the "things" in life as opposed to the people in our lives. People want to buy things just to have them. This point is very poignant at the very end when she finds herself all alone with the villian of the story, Bo Cleevil. As she looks around his castle, she sees he has taken all kinds things, jewels, gold, silver, statues, a treasue chest and carnival rides from the Carnival at the edge of the world. He tells May, even with all this, he is still not happy. He still feels empty. That is such a strong message.

I also loved all the different places in the story and the way the writer described them. You could really picture them in your mind. I thought that was the true magic of the story. You could picture all the different places, you could relate to the characters and  feel a connection to each one. Loved the relationship May had with her adorable cat and how Somber Kitty saved the day towards the end of the story.

This whole series was fun and engaging.
