The book, My Sister's Keeper, was written by Jodi Picoult in 2006, an award nominee for Best Novel. The author lives in New Hampshire with her husband and three children and is the New York Times bestselling author for My Sister's Keeper. This book is about a girl named Kate who was diagnosed with leukemia when she was two-years-old. Her brother Jesse was not a blood match so he could not giver her blood cells or any organs to help her survive. Kate's parents, Brian and Sara, dicided to have another baby that was genetically designed to match Kate so that it could be a donor. The babay they had was a girl named Anna. She was engineered to donate to Kate when she would go into remission. Anna had been donating to Kate for thirteen years of her life when she decided to sue her parents for legal emancipation for medical purposes. When Anna was thirteen she decidedthat she no longer wanted to risk her life to try to save her sisters'. Her parents are furious and think that Anna is only doing it so that she can have some of the attention instead of Kate getting it all the time. At this time Kate is in remission and needs a kidney in order to survive. Meanwhile, their brother Jesse begins to get in a lot of trouble because he does not want his sister to be sick and it takes some of the stress off. He begins to set abandoned buildings on fire, start drugs, and moves above the garage to make it more like an "apartment." The family struggles to stay together and everyone turns into a wreck not knowing if Kate will survive, Anna win her case, or if Jesse stays out of trouble. San Jose Mercury News commented, "Full of insight, inspiration, and heartbreak...Picoult's handling of the central issue is flawless."

My Sister's keeper is about a girl named Anna who was conceived so she could be a genetic match for her sister, Kate, who was diagnosed with Leukenia when she was 3 years old. Anna had undergone countless surgeries and transfusions and had finally had enough to make a desicion that could pull her family and kill the sister that she loves. This book really puts into perspective how much cancer affects a whole family's life, from the child with cancer, to her parents and the siblings. This book is unbelievably real and heartwarming, and will open up your eyes.

My sister's keeper is about a girl, Anna, who was medically "designed" so that her DNA matched up with her sisters. Her sister is sick with a rare form of cancer and needs organs and such from her sister to live. Eventually she gets sick of always being in the hospital and begs Anna to get a lawyer and declare medical emancipation from her parents.Anna agrees and does just so. This book is definately a tear jerker. It makes you thank God for your health. My sister's keeper will keep you turning the pages as you wait to find out what happens to Anna and family.

This book is very very very sad! she was made just to save her sister! then she ends up wanting to sue her own parents for the rights to her body. But threw the whole story its just so sad that her mom could care less for her or her brother its all about her sister. That really bugged me! but she had her dad who was a fire fighter and she and him would always go outside and look at the stars. That was her favorite. But in the end she won the rights to her own body but ended up getting in a car accident and her sister/family ended up getting everything from her body anyways. I didnt like the end!!! but i do want to see the movie!

My Sister's keeper is a very emotional and touching book. If you have a sister you will automatically get sucked into the story line. Kate has leukemia so the genetically engineered to have Anna to be a perfect match for Kate to save her life. Anna undergoes many procedures to save her sister. Every time Kate is in the hospital Anna is there too. This book keeps you guessing and you don't know where its going. Anna goes to a lawyer who agrees to represent her so she can be in control over her own body. She says she refuses to help Kate any more and is upset that no one seems to see her. Anna who is normally the peace keeper stands up and puts a rift in the family. If she doesn't give Kate her kidney she will die. This story is unique as it is told from every person's angle. You not only see the anguish that Anna is going through but also the flashbacks of their mother and father as well as the crazy behavior of their brother who gets over looked as well. The ending to this story is very surprising and by the end I was crying and calling my sister. It was a wonderful book!

I have never cried in a book... until I read this one. It truly shows the bonds and love between sisters, and highlights the terrifying aspect of cancer within a family. I have never read a more sad and touching books. This is the best shown example of family love I have ever read, and I recommend it to anyone who dares to get their eyes wet.

WOW! this book was fantastic. i'm really looking forward to the movie and i hope they dont mess anything up. everything was so perfectly layed out in the book i hope the dont switch or add anything. this book had a suprising ending and thats what made me love this book so much. you really were hoping that everyone could understand eachother in the end. and once they did the one who made them understand was gone. this book made me cry. i recommed this book to my friends and someday when i have kids i will hope that they read this book too.
