NOISY TRACTOR is a cute board book with an interactive element that presents some farm-themed basics. Each page features some rhyming lines and lots of colorful details, with labels on items and animals (eg, horse, barn) and a suggestion to push one of five parts of the tractor for a special sound. For instance, first, children are instructed to push the engine to start the tractor. The tractor itself is die-cut through the book and has a soft texture with buttons hidden in each element.
What I loved: The concept of this book is fantastic for young children who love quick and interactive reads. The illustrations are fun with lots of color, details, and animals that toddlers can explore as they read through the book. The extra labels help to promote some word recognition along the way as well. The rhyming text is fun to listen to and the pages turn very quickly.
The sounds are delightful, and a particular favorite in our house is the sound of the tire going through mud (though the horn is pretty cool too). I also appreciate the feature of the on/off switch on the back, which makes it easy to turn off as needed. The inclusion of five different sounds/places to identify on the tractor is also great!
What left me wanting more: As a small point (and it is hard to say if this is copy specific), the buttons on the tractor are a bit finnicky, and they need to be pushed a specific way to work, which is not always easy for toddlers. We particularly have trouble with the horn, which works some but not all of the time.
Final verdict: Interactive, rhyming, and brightly colored, NOISY TRACTOR is a fantastic board book for children who love farms, quick reads, and fun sounds.
