Remembrance is the tale of five teenagers' lives in the Great War (otherwise known as World War One or 'the war to end all wars'). The five teenagers are: Charlotte, a born nurse, her brother Francis, a conscientious objector (someone who refuses to fight on the grounds that they do not agree with the war), John Malcolm, a voluntary soldier, his twin sister, Maggie and Alex, Maggies and John Malcolms younger brother.

This book deals with all the themes of war and how it affects those at home and at war: death, revenge, love, shellshock, the trenches, everything. It doesn't shy away from any of the harsh realities of war, which makes it the brilliant read that it is, but because of this, it is not really suitable for anyone under 14.

In reading this book you take an unforgettable journey into a world most people today could never imagine. I would recommend Remembrance to anyone with a slight interest in the First World War, or anyone who just loves a good book.
